Looking back at 2005

  • It started out with a bang at school. My awful first period teacher got fired.
  • Then on February 22, I turned 17.
  • On March 3rd, my Mom's birthday, I went to see the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C., with 45-50 students along with 4 or 6 teachers. We went with a Holocaust Survivor who lives in Louisville, who does this for schools in and around the Louisville Metro Area. It was helluvan experience.
  • In April I had a relaxing Spring break.
  • In May, we enjoyed the Kentucky Derby and went to our 2 "usual parties" and hosted our annual Derby Eve party. We live about a block and a half away from a house that has a huge party and raws celberties. You can stand outside and watch the celeberit go in and get their autograph.
  • In June, my aunt and uncle and cousins who were trnasfered for Louisville to Fullerton, came to visit with their friends and their families. Sadly we are the only ones left on her brother side, so we enjoy spending time with them.
  • At the end of July we went to San Francisco to see the city and then to Lake Tahoe for our family reunion on my Mom's Mom side of the family.
  • In August, I started my second to last school year at my High School Trinity. *sniff*
  • In September, our parish had their annual Fall Festival and my Dad runs it and I help out in order to get my required community service hours.
  • In October, I went on a field trip with my class to a play. I went on my Junior retreat and had a lot of fun, and on the very next day I went to see what life is like as a homeless with my religion class. It is required. My uncle, (points up to June) gets transferred for a second time in four years to Scranton-Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania.
  • In November, I went to Manhattan Kansas for Thanksgiving. We were with my Mom Mom and two sisters and her brother. I think my grandma might pass away soon, she's 85.
  • In December I enjoyed our annual Christmas traditions of going to see my Dad's Mom side of the family and on Christmas Day seeing my grandparents and my Dad's siblings.

New Years Resolutions

Here are my resolutions for the year 2006!

  • Loose Weight
  • Get good grades in school and make honor roll.
  • Get my drivers license.
  • Get a job.
  • Take the ACT
  • Fill out applications to college during the Summer so I don't stress about it during my Senior Year.
  • Get accepted into those three colleges, Western Kentucky, UK, Murray State.
  • Having fun and enjoying my second half of my Junior and first half of my Senior Year.

My Ten Dreams in Life

I have many dreams in life. There not all about me, they could be about a particular team. I have dreams about what I want to do with my life. I've got some side stories to the dream, very long about seven. People have said some of these dreams are impossible but I refuse to believe that.

  1. I would like to see me as a Sports Columnist for a Local Newspaper.
  2. I would like to go to UK and have the greatest time in my life.
  3. I would like to see the University of Kentucky get a good coach in football and lead us to a bowl game, then a bowl win, and then a National Championship. People have told me to get a life, because I am probably the only UK fan at my school who still listens to all the football games.
  4. I would like to see UK win many basketball championship because the last one came in third grade and I remember it vividly.
  5. I would like to make a difference in someone's life.
  6. I would like to see the Chicago Cubs to win a World Series.
  7. I would like to see my High School, Trinity win a State Championship in Basketball. We made it to the Sweet Sixteen during my Freshmen year. That was Trinity's first regional Title in school history. We are by far the most toughest region in the state. Last year we my school at #1 in the state taking on Ballard (our public school rivals) at #2 in the state and we lost by a point. This wasn't the regional championship, this was the battle between the far east end districts to see who would J-Town in the finals. Both teams played hard and we both deserved to be in the Sweet Sixteen. We haven't beaten them since 1996 in basketball, its been since 1996 since they beat us in football and they're in the top ten. I just want to see my football high school win a state championship in basketball.
  8. I would like to have a successful family.
  9. I would like to make it to every Major League Baseball Stadium.
  10. I would like to give back to my two two grade schools and my High School.

Sorry for the long post but I've been thinking about my dreams lately. What are your dreams.

I saw the movie King Kong Today with three firends, what happened to the group of 7 of my friends.

It was a very good movie. (see review at the bottom of post) I went with my two best friends. Its kind of sad, it used to be a group 7, but its starting to look like one group with three and my group with three. The other one has gotten annoying and everyone has started to ignore him, since he acts like a know it all.

We all still eat at the same lunch table except for one (he's in the last lunch with the other half of Junior's). Its three of us talking and the other two have started to bring other people to the lunch table. The annoying kid tries to talk with everybody.

Those three hang out with people who don't get along with the rest of the class. The other three use used to get along with the rest of the class, they now wonder why nobody really talks to them. Its because the brag and talk about girls. Meanwhile my other two and friends and I are pretty much friends with everybody in the Junior class since we love sports like most guys do.

It sad to see the other three spread away, they talk about girls all the time. They think everbody else does too but somebody who knows the other three of us very weel, said we are just like everybody else, catching up on college basketball and football. I know its sad but the other two parents and my parents say it was coming. Those three only care about money. I am in a lot of classes with the other three and in one with one of my tue friends. I hope this is something that everyone goes thorugh in life where the large group of friends break up into smaller parts.

I borught this up because my two friends and I went to see King Kong. It was a very good movie but on the scary side and I jumped a couple of times. The special affects were solid but not perfect. The stroy was very good. It makes the story flow very well. But you may be caught surprised if you don't read the reviews like me. The only bad thing, is that it was 3 hours and ten minuites, very long movie. Sorry for the long post but it was something I have wanted to write about. BTW, this is my last post till the day after Christmas, where I'll discuss the weekend of fun.

My SEC Basketball Picks

Its getting close to conference play in basketball. I'm going to predict the SEC. The SEC is getting back up there but still isn't up there with Big East, Big 12 and ACC.

SEC East
  1. Kentucky- Strong back court with Rondo, Sparks, and Crawford. With Morris comming back the front court will be very strong with Rekalin Sims.
  2. Florida- They're doing great right now, but I think they're too young to play with the Cats. But it would not surprise me, if they win the SEC East.
  3. Tennessee- Has one of the best backcourts in the SEC. They will lead the SEC in three poinr shooting. There are some flaws with their defense, but non the less this is a tournament worthy team.
  4. Vanderbilt- Solid team, but they have flaws down low and may have a hard time playing defense
  5. South Carolina- I would have them at number 3 but they haven't lived up to their expectations. The talents there but they seem to have some problems, but they might be a sleeper pick.
  6. Georgia- Very young, they have 5 freshmen and 5 sophomores. Even though they have won almost as many games as they had last year, they will struggle in the SEC.

SEC West

  1. Alabama- Lost a lot of player's but they have retooled their team to once again dominate the SEC West. They're young but have a lot of talent.
  2. LSU- They are very strong, look out, they could be explosive on offense and defense. They will compete with the Tides but the coaching will keep them from winning the West.
  3. Arkansas- The Razorsback are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. But they're still learning how to play with the SEC. Look for them to get an NIT bid.
  4. Mississippi State- They lost Robert's and their guard. They will struggle a lot. They need Robert's and will more than likely be left out of the NIT, they are going to be way too young.
  5. Mississippi- They have never been a basketball school and once again will have a very bad season, and finish up near the bottom.
  6. Auburn- Very bad team, and will have their worst season in years. There's nothing good about their team.

The SEC will get 6 teams in the tournament this year.

Tourney Bound: Kentucky, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Vanderbilt.

South Carolina will be a bubble team and will be left out.

Shut Up, UL Fans!

For the second straight year, UK beat UL. It wasn't even close. UK dominated on both of ends of the floor and now I get to brag to all the UL fans for the rest of the year. It a great feeling, the UK fans in the Louisville are get to brag. They outnumber us by about 30 percent, but UK fans love to rub it into UL. UL gets football and we get basketball. It was a great day!

UL fans have been talking smack at school this week. One kid said UK wouldn't make the tournament, after we lost to Iowa. All my friends warned him, that I would talk trash to him when UL looses. He repeated himself after two losses to UL and IU. He was saying UL will beat the carp out of UK. He said he was going to call me. I actjually thought about calling him at the end of the game. I gurantee, he will suffer big time when we go back to school on January 4th.

Do you ever get annoyed with the other team's fans who are friends with you and rub it in after they loose and you win? Because he kept on bringing it on, I will be talking smack for the rest of the school year! I warned him, a million times. He apparently didn't learn his lesson last year when UL lost.

I'll be able to go to bed at 2AM and not have to get up till 11 or so. Look out for some, bowl prediction. Each day you can see my predicted final score and keys to the games. I've got some rant's I want to talk about but not today since I am in a VERY good mood!

The Politics Test

I know most of you support Democrats, so you might kill me.

My results are down low and I was surprised. I thought I was more towards the middle between Republicans and Democrats. I support the Democrats sometimes, morely republican, becaue my Dad is a lot like this. he has never voted straight Republican or Democrat. He is a republican and I wish a lot more people were in the middle like him.

You are a

Social Conservative
(23% permissive)

and an...

Economic Conservative
(63% permissive)

You are best described as a:

Republican

Two more days till Winter Break!

Ahhh today I only had to go in for 3 hours. I took my Composition Exam with the Bitchiest teacher from 9-10:30. Then it was theb boring Scripture Exam which was 10:40-12:10. I am done with those classes for the rest of the year!

Almost everybody in my scripture class cheated ont the scripture exam. I was one of the few who didn't and got a 78. As you can see I am not a good test taker. i hate test.

Tomorrow it will be Physics (gag) and English. I'll be there for only 3 hours again! Friday will be Newspaper Journalism and Spanish 2 (Ulgh)

Trinity has a longer Christmas break by a couple days than most schools. My Christmas Break is from the 17-3. We get 18 days off. Woo and hoo. They have to tell people to stay away from other schools because thewy're in session.

A drug bust at my school has been going on in Louisville. Our strating QB got caught with marijuana. Can't say his name because he's a youth.

Today was my last full day of Classes!

I had my Math Exam this morning and only got a 74. I know its passing but my parent's want everything above an 80. Tomorrow I got my easiest exam and my hardest exam. Religion Exam is real hard but composition is really easy.

I'll be watching the TARFE tonight. Looking to be a great finale, I'll be happy with the Linzies or Bransen's. But not those damn Weaver's. Don't give me spoiler's because I want to be surprised. I never venture in the TAR spoiler's. Will there an influx of newbies tomorrow in the Weaver forum?

Survivor

Last night show was a pretty good show. I enjoyed seeing everyone back at the reunion show as well. I was hoping Steph would win because even though she lied that how you win a game like that. She clearly had the best strategy. She might of only won one individual challenge but hey, it got her somewhere. And she admitted she betrayed people

My favorite of the show was when they went back to Judd, when he said the alligator statement. Bwahhaaa. My friend and I loved that part. That quote might of been one of the best statements ever. The most annoying part was the CAR. Did Cindy need to go on and on about the CAR. Ok ok Cindy we get what happened with the CAR. I had a different view of Cindy after she went on and on about the CAR.

But it was a good show. Looking forward to the TAR finale tomorrow night and The Apprentice Finale on Thursday night. *rubbs hand* Good week for TV!

Exams, Ulgh

Its exam week for me, this week. Its the end of the frist semester. Wow, already a half of a year has gone by. So in this post, I am going to review how each class went this semester.

The number's represent what period I had the class.
  1. Math- The Yeacher tries to be funny. He calls his pens golf club, he calls some math problems *specials*, he calls study guides a lifeline. Man can he just teach. ALL YEAR, oh boy!
  2. Composition- I hate this teacher. She doesn't know how to teach. I'm done with her on Wednsday, woo hoo!
  3. Religion- He tries to make th class fun but no matter what I don't think you can. Overall he's a pretty good teacher since he tries his best. This class also is only one semester, so woo hoo!
  4. Physics- The teacher used to be a sub and has a son in the Junior class. he's fun but doesn't know how to control the class. People talk the whole period while he constantly tells them to be quiet. Overall he's a good teacher because I have a B+. ALL YEAR, maybe he'll learn how to cntrol the class.
  5. Lunch
  6. English- Hardest teacher I've ever had. He does his best, but he might be a little to hard to teach the middle level. His class was the one that kept me off honor roll for the first quarter. All Year
  7. Newspaper Journalism- You gotta figure out what he's teaching by yourself. He's an ok teacher All Year
  8. Spanish 2- My least favorite teach, had her last year, and was a member of her worst class ever. She split us up this year. But its fun to watch her yell at the fourth period students she had last year.

I made honor roll seven straight times to begin out my High School career. I've missed it two quarters in a row. The Good News, is it looks like the streak is over and I'm back on honor roll which means I get early to lunch for the first time this year!

Overall this semester was a good one. I'm looking forward to the second semster where my classes are this.

  1. Math
  2. Resource (Study Hall)
  3. Communication Skills
  4. Physics
  5. Lunch
  6. English
  7. Newspaper Journalism
  8. Spanish 2

I know this post was long, but I felt like writing about it since I am happy I am done with a half of a year!

My Christmas List

Not a lot but enough to make me happy.

It is cold and with a dusting of snow, I can say it beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I will be going to a friend house at about 3:00, and check back with OT around 11 or 11:30 tonight.
  • 5 GB Creative Lab Zen Micro.
  • An SEC shirt sayin Kentucky is the toughest team in the toughest conference
  • A 25 year anniversary Rupp Arena Shirt saying, Our House
  • NCAA Football 2006, for my PS2 (Playstation 2)

Three Day Weekend!

Woo hoo but semester finals are comming. I'll be sleeping in and staying up late. I'll be playing video games during the day since it too cold to go outside. Then next Friday, we get out for Christmas Break. We will return January 4.

Louisville is Under a Winter Storm Warning and I have some good news.

Crazy day in Louisville, you better go buy the milk and other carp as well. Louisville is suppose to get a lot of snow. 3-6 inches. That means everybody will be out of school on Friday. problem is, were off no matter what. I want it to happen when were suppose to go to school too. But ulgh, its only going to be 27 degrees tomorrow with heavy snow. And for 100th frigging time I heard on the news, Louisville is under a winter storm warning.

The good news. We had our assembly for out State Championship Team. Jerry Abramson, the Louisville mayor came to give us another sign. The neighborhood, St. Matthew mayors made it Trinity day. Coach Bob Beatty talked about how they fought hard and the coaching staff spent many hours in the office preparing our team. For the last minuite, Dr. Rob Mullen said that for their hard work, Winter Break will be extended one day. Instead of going back on Tuesday the 3rd, were going back on Wednsday the 4th. Woo Hoo. They said each class gets two days off because of State Championships, and the Class of 2007 (my class) hadn't had one yet, so they needed to use this oppurtunity. I am in a great mood!

Its Cold

It hasn't hit 40 in days. I want my warm days back. I lvoe lvoe lvoe 70 degree weather and warmer. I hope we get a nice warm up in two or three weeks. At least we saw the sun for the first time since Friday. Snow on Thursday, a dusting at best. Maybe hitting 40 on Saturday. The good news is, that temperatures start warming up on January 16.

We pulled off the miracle!

St. Xavier beat us 48-16 earlier this season. It was a different story this time as we pulled off a shocker. We won our 16th state championship and to do it against are rivals, makes it even better. It looked like we going to overtime when St. X had a 4th and inches at the 2 yard line. We stopped them with about 2 minuites left. More tense moments, our running back dives over a pile of St. X but managed to get to the one. On 3rd & 10, with a minuite left, our QB Nick Petrino runs 12 yards for the first down. Thats when my two friends and I realized we had done it! We kneeled and counted down. St. X fans stood in disbeleif, because they were the 18 point favorites. We juts stood there cheering, and celebrating and watched the trophy ceremony. I've never felt better than this.

The front page of the Courier this morning said, Shamrocks shock the state. All I can say is I have a big grin on my face!

Rant about a Teacher and the school

Composition. A new class for the Academic Program (middle of the road), which is the program I'm in and for Honors (right above academic, 2nd highest of the 4 programs.

If we had a good teacher, it mightbe better. But this teacher wants us to write her way and only her way. She claims she has a life, well so do we. Don't make us write the finishing ends of our story in one night and expect us to type the whole thing up. 4 freaking pages. Thats what I was doing. Thank God the class ends in about a week in a half!

A rant about the school. With composition being required for a half a credit (one semester class) we only have to take Religion for a half a credit too. Were suppose to have one one semster and the other the next semester. Well about 15 or 20 people got it in the same semester. (yep I was one of them)

The probelm, community service paper is due March 10. They said to turn it in to your Composition or Religiong teacher. well, I have neither next semester. Teachers say I don't know. My Religion teacher has said about 3 different places. It doesn't count as a grade for me, its a basically a free 100, as a test grade. I just have to trun in the paper of hours. i don't know about the paper because its worthless.

Tomorrow is TGIF and I won't be back till Saturday since I'm going to one of my friends house after the State Championship Game. I;ll write all about the state title game on Saturday. See ya then!
