March? Wow Time has gone by Fast!
This is a reflection of high school.
I can't beleive the school year is ending in 2 and a half month. It has gone by too fast. I will be entering my final year of high school next year. It has been to quick.
Freshman Year
I still remember being that freshmen who is clueless where they are. I have some fond memories of freshman year. Eating lunch at 10:55 and being pushed around on days when there was no time between lunches. I remember freshmen retreat because we had it on our 5th day of school.
My 2 fondest memories of freshmen year?
It has to be winning state in football after starting 0-4. Then the big one.
Winning regionals in basketball. That meant we got to play in Rupp in the sweet 16. We won our 1st game against a small school. Us juniors and seniors say who can forget the memories of throwing up newspaper in the air. I will never forget that on the first day because we won by 22 points and it was a great feeling. Two days later we were up against Mason County, #1 in state and had Tennesee star Chris Lofton. Everybody said we had no chance. It went into 3 Overtimes and Chris Lofton hit a game winning three pointer with 3.8 seconds left. We lost by one.
I made honor roll all four quarters in Frosh year.
Intaurmural Basketball, we made it to the championship with a 7 seed out of 10 teams. We lost by 33 in the championship but still we are the cinderella team of that class as you'll find out later.
Sophmore Year
It was a rough year athletically, not winning state in football for the first time in three years and not making past the second round since 1988. It was a stunner as we lost our second game to an opponet who would loose 63-0 a week later to a team we beat 56-14.
Our basketball team was #1 in the state and a team in our own region was #2 in state. We did not get to go back to Rupp as we won the Louisville Invatational and we won the Bank tournament in Lexington. We lost in the regional final four by 1 point.
My intaurmural basketball team was the #6 seed out of 8 teams. We made it to the final four and lost on a buzzer beater to the eventual champions.
My religion teacher was fired midway throught the year for making 80% of the people fail.
I missed honor roll in the last quarter while making it on all the others.
Junior Year
Athleticall, we have done the upsetting.
In football we beat our rivals in the state title games after loosing to them 48-16.
Basketball was a wild season. We beat #2 and #4 in the state as we played 22 ranked teams in our state out of 27 games. We finshed 14-13 by loosing by 18 in the the Regional 16. We lsot 11 top scorers from last year. We had two guys returning on Varsity, and they carried the team. Next year we have 8 players retunring.
Intaurmural basketball, my team was only one of four teams to make the tournament. All the other 6 forfeited at least 2 games. The tournament: we won because of a double forfeit in the semifinals while we beat our opponet on a layup with 5 seconds left.
Junior year to be Continued.............
